Can I install Win7 on my laptop hard drive in an external USB configuration?

My Toshiba Satellite P25 laptop won’t boot past blue screen. I can’t get into safe mode, nor get dos prompt. I can’t change the BIOS settings, and my CD Rom doesn’t seem to be working. Can I do an install on the Hd as a USB external drive?, or fix it and return it to the laptop?

If you can’t get into the BIOS then you have other problems it sounds. And since you can’t get into the BIOS you can’t change the boot settings. I would think you have RAM problems or either something is wrong with your mobo or a corrupted BIOS..

If you put the Windows 7 disk in the DVD drive and you don’t get the option to boot from it then you have serious problems with your computer.
